Bozeman Health Trauma Program provides local schools with medical equipment

06-02-2017

This spring the Bozeman Health Foundation and Deaconess Hospital Trauma Program worked together to provide the Bozeman School District Middle Schools and Bozeman High School with advanced medical equipment able to treat a multiple patient scenario on the school’s campus. The equipment includes the latest tourniquets, Quik Clot hemostatic bandages, Hyfin chest seal dressings, Israeli pressure bandages, and an assortment of other dressings, in a small portable bag. Each pack is designed to treat 3-4 patients depending upon injuries. The primary reason that patients do not survive injuries is bleeding, hence the focus of the equipment on bleeding control. The school system will incorporate these packs into their Run Lock Fight training as well as provide the locations of these to EMS and Fire agencies. The Bozeman Health Foundation and Deaconess Hospital Trauma Program is currently in the process of providing the same equipment to the Belgrade Middle School and High School.
